Kavana privacy policy

Northcrow.ai operates Kavana. This policy explains information used to provide the app and the choices available to you. Contact support@northcrow.ai for privacy questions or requests.

Information used by the app

An account uses an email address and a hashed password. Your profile may include a display name and optional avatar. Tasks, notes, routines, completed focus sessions, garden ownership and placements, and relevant preferences are saved to provide the features you use.

Support and administrative actions can create activity records. If you email support, your message includes the information you choose to send. Premium subscriptions and sponsored access use relevant status, provider identifiers and access-period records.

Account emails and security

Kavana uses your email address and display name to send welcome, email-confirmation and password-reset messages. North Crow also receives a signup notification containing the account name, email address and creation time for account administration.

Confirmation and reset links use single-use credentials with an expiry time. Kavana stores a hashed version of the credential, the account and email it belongs to, its purpose, expiry and use status. It also records email confirmation status and mail request attempts, retry times and error categories to support account security and reliable sending.

Browser storage and sign-in

Kavana uses an authentication cookie and browser storage for timer recovery, sound preferences and locally saved mixes. Clearing browser storage can remove those local settings. The public one-minute preview does not save focus history to an account or earn rewards.

If you choose offline audio downloads, this browser stores the public offline player and selected recordings. The offline download service does not cache account pages or API responses. Downloaded recordings can be removed in Sound settings. Browser-local data is specific to the browser and site address.

Services used to operate Kavana

The public service uses Vercel hosting and Neon PostgreSQL. Stripe handles subscription checkout and billing management. Kavana keeps subscription status and identifiers; payment information is handled through Stripe’s interface. Provider privacy policies describe their own processing.

Resend sends account messages and learning-center invitations. It receives the recipient address, message content and the information needed to send the message, including private confirmation or reset links when included in an account email.

Site styling may request fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser sends the information needed to retrieve those resources. Opening an external source or emailing support uses the services you choose for those actions.

Your questions and choices

You can edit supported preferences and download available focus reports. Contact support for access, correction, account deletion or other privacy requests. Please do not include your password in a request.

Children and learning centers

Learning-center partners and learner identities are not listed on public program pages. Student enrollment arrangements need agreed age eligibility, applicable consent, verified email ownership, retention rules and institutional responsibilities. Contact the coordinating staff or support about those arrangements.

Age answers and support reminders

Signup asks whether you are 18 or older. Kavana stores an eligibility answer rather than a date of birth. Only eligible adults using Core may see occasional support reminders; sponsored learners are excluded. Reminder timing and opt-out preferences are saved to the account and can be changed in Settings.
