# Third-party audio

The library contains 12 Focus, 12 Nature, and 12 Lo-fi choices. Six Focus choices and all twelve Nature choices use real recordings; twelve Lo-fi choices use recorded music. Six Focus textures are generated locally. Recordings are served locally and requested when played.

All included recordings are dedicated under CC0 1.0 or explicitly released into the public domain. Creator credits remain visible in the player. Sound identifiers and saved choices remain stable across this revision.

## Current field-recording revision

These new files live under `/audio/natural/`. The original files below are retained unchanged. The [field-recording manifest](/credits/audio-naturalness.json) contains reviewed source pages, downloaded source hashes, archive/member hashes when applicable, output hashes, gain, filters, durations, peak levels, and loop measurements.

Preparation removes sub-bass rumble and DC offset, applies a fixed loudness adjustment, limits only exceptional peaks, and blends the recording tail into its head. Focus recordings receive gentle treble shelving. Files use Vorbis quality 6. The source wind recording is raw mid/side, decoded here to left/right with restrained side level. No synthetic layers, speed changes, pitch changes, or artificial widening are added to field recordings.

Standard texture preserves the natural frequency balance; Soft gently reduces treble. Lo-fi retains its existing texture filtering. Ocean Shore and Night Crickets retain their previously prepared real recording loops. Most new environmental loops run roughly one to six minutes; Quiet Interior and Appliance Hum use separate short refrigerator recordings (9.5 and 7.5 seconds). They are described as appliances rather than represented as library or fan recordings.

There are 30 active recording files, totaling 87,004,095 bytes (82.97 MiB). The sixteen new field-recording files total 61,409,562 bytes. They are loaded individually, not as an initial library download. All 24 earlier recording files remain byte-for-byte unchanged.

## Retained original collection and first expansion

The rain, forest, wind and fire basenames in this table refer to `/audio/ambient/`; music files refer to `/audio/lofi/`. Some environmental originals have been superseded in the active catalog by the field recordings above. They remain on disk with these original credits and hashes.

The [first expansion manifest](/credits/audio-expansion.json) retains source archive/member hashes and preparation measurements for the nine initial additions. Six Holizna music tracks retain their full arrangements, with near-silent ends trimmed and a short overlap at the repeat point. Ocean Shore combines four Alki Beach waves into a 9.5-second loop; Night Crickets is 10.95 seconds.

## Generated Focus sounds

Brown Noise, Pink Noise, White Noise, Deep Space, Warm Drone, and Open Horizon use the local Chillax-derived engine with distinct Kavana signal profiles. The noise colors are spectrally different. Chord layers use soft sine voices, restrained detuning and subtle movement. Noise stereo width is reduced to avoid a separated hiss. These six are labeled as generated textures, not field recordings. No brain, treatment or health outcome is promised.
